Your Privacy is of utmost concern to Laan global (“Mapto”/”app”/ “Company”/ “we”/ “us” / “our”).
This Privacy and Cookie policy describes how Mapto (website and App link/url) uses the data/ data/ digital data provided by its users and drivers are collected/ processed/ shared/ disclosed/transferred and protected. Mapto receives data when a user/ driver shares the data while creating an account in the App for using the app for the services provided by it and when user/ driver contacts Mapto using email/mobile phone and other modes of communications.
1. Definition
1.1 Data: Data includes the data, including personal data, shared by the user for creating Mapto account and using the app.
1.2 Device: shall mean computer, mobile or other device used to access the services offered by Mapto.
1.3 Device Identifier: shall mean IP address or other unique identifier for the Device.
1.4 Driver: those who provide transportation to users individually via their Mapto account.
1.5 Guest users: those without a Mapto account who receive ride ordered by other Mapto account owners
1.6 Mobile Application/ App: shall mean application provided by us on the Device to access the services.
1.7 Owners: those who make their vehicle(s) available to others through Mapto Platform/App.
1.8 User: those who request or receive transportation services through Mapto app through their Mapto account.
2. What data we collect
We may ask you to share with us certain data. We may collect this data through various means and in various places through the services, including account registration forms, contact us forms, or when you otherwise interact with us. When you sign up to use the App and services, you create a user profile. We shall ask you to provide only such data which is for lawful purposes connected with our services and necessary to be collected by us for such purpose. At present, we collect the following data from the user/ driver for convenient functioning of the App.
2.1 Personal Data
When you register or use the App, we may collect the following types of personal data:
2.1.1. Contact Data: Your name, mobile phone number, and email address and PIN number.
2.1.2. Account Data: User ID, transaction history, and account preferences, and activity within the App.
2.1.3. Payment Data: Details related to your payment methods, including debit or credit card.
2.1.4. Device and Usage Data: Data regarding the device you use to access the App, including device type, operating system, IP address, geolocation data (where enabled), browser type, and browsing activity.
2.1.5. Saved Data: When you use our app and services, we may collect and store data about you to process your requests and automatically complete forms for future transactions, including (but not limited to) your phone number, address, email address, billing data, emergency contact data, etc.
2.1.6. Verification Data: If you are a Driver, we may collect location details, profile picture, call and SMS details, copies of government issued identification documents such as Aadhaar, Permanent Account Number, Driving License etc and other details (KYC), vehicle related documents such as, certificate of registration, permit of vehicle, certificate of fitness, insurance, pollution certificate etc., user settings, and such other documents which evidence the health or fitness of the vehicle to provide services on Mapto Platform from time to time. If you are a Driver we may also require you to capture your real time self-clicked images (selfies) and upload such selfies on the Mapto Platform from time to time to verify your identity.
2.1.7. Background check Data: We collect background check and identity verification data if you are a Driver to ensure safety of riders. This may include collection of data such as driver history or criminal records (where permitted by law), and right to work. This data may be collected from Third Party Service Providers (“TPSP”) on the Company’s behalf.
2.2 Other Data
2.2.1. In addition to the data mentioned in 2.1, we may use a variety of technologies that automatically collect certain data whenever you visit or interact with us and our services. (“Usage Data”). This Usage Data may include the browser that you are using, the URL that referred you to our services, all of the areas within our services that you visit, and the time of day, among other data. In addition, we collect your Device Identifier for your Device. A Device Identifier is a number that is automatically assigned to your Device used to access the services, and our computers identify your Device by its Device Identifier.
2.2.2. In case of booking via call center, we may record calls and chat histories for quality and training purposes
2.2.3. Tracking data is collected as you navigate through our services, including, but not limited to geographic areas. The driver’s mobile phone will send your GPS coordinates, during the ride, to our servers. Most GPS enabled mobile devices can define one’s location to within a limit
2.2.4. In case you upload an emergency contact (name and phone number) on your account / on the Mobile Application, we will be collecting and storing such contact data to share your ride details with that contact and for use in an emergency situation.
2.2.5. In case you refer a friend to our services, we will be collecting and storing such contact data (name and phone number) to get in touch with your friend, to promote our services.
2.2.6. In case you use your account to book a cab/motor bike ride for someone else from your contact list using the services, we will be collecting and storing such contact data and sharing the ride details with that selected contact.
2.2.7. If you are a Driver, we will, additionally, record your calls with us made from the Device used to provide services and related call details.
2.2.8. Usage Data may be collected using a cookie. If you do not want data to be collected through the use of cookies, your browser allows you to deny or accept the use of cookies. Cookies can be disabled or controlled by setting a preference within your web browser or on your Device. If you choose to disable cookies or flash cookies on your Device, some features of the services may not function properly or may not be able to customize the delivery of data to you. The Company cannot control the use of cookies (or the resulting data) by third parties, and use of third-party cookies is not covered by our Privacy Policy.
2.3 Data Collected by Mobile Applications
2.3.1 Our services are primarily provided through the Mobile Application. We may collect and use technical data and related data, including but not limited to, technical data about your device, system and application software, and peripherals, that is gathered periodically to facilitate the provision of software updates, product support and other services to you (if any) related to such Mobile Applications.
2.3.2. When you use any of our Mobile Applications, the Mobile Application may automatically collect and store some or all of the following data from your mobile device (“Mobile Device Data”), in addition to the Device Data, including without limitation:
- Your preferred language and country site (if applicable)
- The manufacturer and model of your mobile device
- Your mobile operating system
- The type of mobile internet browsers you are using
- Your geolocation
2.3.3. Data about how you interact with the Mobile Application and any of our web sites to which the Mobile Application links, such as how many times you use a specific part of the Mobile Application over a given time period, the amount of time you spend using the Mobile Application, how often you use the Mobile Application, actions you take in the Mobile Application and how you engage with the Mobile Application Data to allow us to personalize the services and content available through the Mobile Application.
2.3.4. Data from SMS/ text messages upon receiving Device permissions for the purposes of issuing and receiving one time passwords and other device verification, and automatically filling verification details during financial transactions, either through us or a third-party service provider, in accordance with applicable law. We do not share or transfer SMS/ text message data to any third party other than as provided under this Privacy Policy.
3. How We Use Your Data
We may use the collected data for various purposes, in general:
3.1.1. To Provide and Improve Services: To provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features, including processing your transactions, enabling user interactions, and offering personalized content.
3.1.2. To Communicate with You: To send you transactional emails (e.g., order confirmations, account-related updates), promotional communications (if opted-in), and user support messages.
3.1.3. To Process Transactions: To facilitate payments, process orders, manage points redemption (for users), and ensure fulfillment of your orders.
3.1.4. For Analytics and Research: To analyze user behavior, track usage patterns, and improve our services, features, and user experience.
3.1.5. Legal Compliance and Security: To comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud, enforce our Terms of Service, protect our rights, and respond to law enforcement requests.
3.1.6. As mentioned supra, our primary goal for collecting all the data is to improve user experience and safety of users. In addition to the objectives for collecting data mentioned above, we use the data for -
a) To enable you to access our platform.
b) To verify your identity and/ or your capacity, under applicable law, to provide services through our platform;
c) To closely monitor which features of the services are used most, to allow you to view your trip history, rate trips or bookings, and to determine which features need to be improved for enhanced user experience, including usage patterns and geographic locations to determine where we should offer or focus services, features and/or resources;
d) To send you a welcome email/SMS to verify your username and password;
e) To provide you the correct app version depending on your Device type, for troubleshooting and in some cases, marketing purposes;
f) To help diagnose problems with our computer server, and to administer our platform;
g) To send you strictly service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if our services are temporarily suspended for maintenance, we might send you an email. If you do not wish to receive them, you have the option to deactivate your account;
h) To prevent, discover and investigate violations of this Policy or any applicable terms of service or terms of use;
i) To identify and/or detect security breaches or attacks, errors, fraud, money laundering, abuse and other criminal activities, and investigating and taking appropriate remedial action;
j) We provide some of your Personal Data (such as your name, pick up address, contact number) to the Driver who accepts your request for services so that the Driver may contact and find you;
k) If you are a User, we use geo-location data for various purposes, including for you to be able to view the Drivers in your area that are close to your location to provide services to you, to automatically fetch your location when you open the Mapto App, for the Drivers to identify the pickup location and to allow you (if you choose through any features we may provide) to share this data with other people for your safety;
l) If you are a Driver, we use the geo-location data for (only when the Driver go online on the Mapto App) you to receive orders close to your location even when the Mapto App is not in use or closed, to enable the Users to track the distance of the Drivers from their location for pick up, to share the exact location for the safety of the Users, etc.;
m) If you are a Driver, we may share your name, vehicle number, driving license number, phone number and/or profile picture (if applicable), tracking details with our Users to provide them the Services;
n) We may use your Personal Data or Usage Data that we collect about you: (i) to provide you with data or services or process transactions that you have requested or agreed to receive including to send you electronic newsletters, or to provide you with special offers or promotional materials on behalf of us or third parties; (ii) to enable you to participate in a variety of the Services’ features such as online or mobile entry sweepstakes, contests or other promotions; (iii) to contact you with regard to your use of the Services and, in our discretion, changes to the Services and/or the Services’ policies; (iv) for internal business purposes; (v) for inclusion in our data analytics; and (vi) for purposes disclosed at the time you provide your Data or as otherwise set forth in this Policy;
o) To enhance your user experience in relation to the Mapto App or the Services, including customisation / personalization of the Mapto App or the Services;
p) To provide relevant offers or rewards to you, based on your consumption patterns;
q) To enforce our terms and conditions and this Policy, and resolve any disputes;
r) To provide functionality, analyse performance, fix errors, bugs, and improve the usability and effectiveness of the Mapto Platform;
s) To comply with Applicable Laws or requests received from regulators, government, law enforcement or judicial authorities under Applicable Laws or our contract with a third party;
t) To carry out our obligations and enforcing rights arising from any contracts between us;
u) To disclose to affiliates, our and their employees, agents and representatives on a need-to-know basis to facilitate provision of Services;
v) To deliver any administrative notices, alerts, advice, notifications and communication relevant to your use of the Services, through social media (including WhatsApp), SMS and other media;
w) If you sign up to use our Services as an employee or as a stakeholder of a third party with whom the Company has an arrangement and has offered discount coupons/ or extended certain promotional offers, the Company may share any data provided by you with such third party to be utilised by them for limited internal business purposes only; and/ or
x) To fulfil any other purpose for which you provide us the Data and/or for any other purpose with your consent. Please note, we do not use the data collected from you for targeted advertising.
4. Disclosure of Your Data
4.1. With Your Consent: We may share your information if you provide explicit consent, such as when you participate in certain marketing programs or promotions.
4.2. Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before your personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
4.3. Legal Requirements: We may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency).
5. Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. These measures include encryption, secure servers, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
6. Your Rights
6.1. Access and Update: You have the right to access and update your personal information at any time through your account settings in the App.
6.2. Data Retention: We will retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
6.3. Opt-Out: You may opt out of receiving promotional communications from us by following the unsubscribe instructions included in those communications. However, you may still receive non-promotional emails related to your account or our services.
6.4. Request Deletion: You may request the deletion of your account and personal information by contacting our support team. We will take reasonable steps to remove your data from our systems, subject to any legal obligations or legitimate business needs.
7. Third-Party Links
The App may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by the Company. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party websites you visit.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. Use of the Mapto App is only available for persons who can enter into a legally binding contract under Applicable Laws. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from children without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.
9. International Data Transfers
Please be aware that your personal data may be transferred to and processed in countries where we have tie-ups with partner companies. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from your jurisdiction. We take appropriate measures, including entering into agreements with our international partners, to ensure that your data is protected in accordance with applicable laws and standards.
10. Event of data Breach
In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as soon as possible, in accordance with applicable data protection laws. We will provide details of the breach, the potential impact on your personal data, and the measures we are taking to mitigate the risks.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy
We may update our Privacy and Cookie Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy and Cookie Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
12. Limitation of Liability
Mapto shall not be held responsible for any unauthorized access to or use of your personal information. While we take reasonable steps to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its security. By using the App, you acknowledge and agree that you provide your personal information at your own risk.
13. Governing Law
This Privacy and Cookie policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.

16. Changes to the Privacy Policy
16.1. We may update / modify, from time to time, this Policy to reflect changes to our Information practices. Any changes will be effective immediately upon the posting of the revised Policy on the Mapto Platform. If we make any material changes, we will notify you by email (sent to the e-mail address specified in your account) or by means of a notice on the Mapto App prior to the change becoming effective.
16.2. We encourage you to periodically review this page for the latest information on our privacy practices. Your use of the Mapto App or availing the Services after an updated Policy becomes effective will indicate your acceptance of the updated Policy.
